What are Chamber Bucks?
Chamber Bucks are gift certificates that can be used at a wide variety of retailers, restaurants, service providers, and other businesses in the Austin area. Businesses and individuals often purchase them as gifts or for employee incentives.
What Denominations Are Available?
Available in $5, $10, $25, and $50 denominations, Chamber Bucks can be bought by the general public at the Chamber office and redeemed at any participating Chamber member business.
Is There a Cost to Participate in the Chamber Bucks Program?
No, participation is free for Chamber members. It’s a benefit offered to you as a member.
What Do I Do When I Receive Chamber Bucks?
Treat Chamber Bucks like cash. If necessary, provide change to the customer.
Can My Customers Exchange Chamber Bucks for Cash or Gift Certificates for My Place of Business?
No. Due to double liability, tax reporting, and misuse issues, Chamber Bucks should be accepted only in the direct exchange for goods and services.
How Do I Turn In Chamber Bucks for Payment?
When you’re ready to redeem Chamber Bucks for payment, write your business name on the “Redeeming Member” line of the Chamber Buck, then either bring or mail it to the Chamber office (Monday through Thursday). We will issue you a check for the full amount, either at the office or by mail, on Friday of that week. If you call ahead, we can have a check ready when you stop by.
What If I Haven’t Kept My Membership Dues Current?
If your membership dues are not current, the Chamber Bucks value will be applied toward your dues. Please note, checks will only be issued to members in good standing.
Can I Deposit Chamber Bucks Into My Bank Account?
No, Chamber Bucks are not checks. They must be redeemed through the Chamber office by member businesses.
How Long Are Chamber Bucks Valid?
Chamber Bucks, like all gift certificates, do not expire. They can be redeemed at any time.
